Happy New Year – ABBA – 1980
1980 gav ABBA ut albumet Super Truper och var deras sjunde studioalbum. Men visste ni att den första versionen hette ”Daddy Don’t Get Drunk on Christmas Day” och det var gruppens ljudtekniker Michael B Tretow som bestämde det namnet.
Fortfarande så ger denna låt mej gåshud, så många minnen är förknippad med 1980 och denna låt.
Vid varje nyårskifte så dyker låten upp – men det blir lite speciellt när 2019 går över till 2020 då är det 40 år sedan låten släpptes!

A-Teens version på Happy New Year
En cover på Happy New Year spelades in av den svenska popgruppen A-Teens och släpptes som CD-singel 1999. I ABBA:s originalversion sjungs om ”…in the end of 89” till framtidens år 1989. I A-teens version ändrades texten till ”…in the end of 99” och man syftade då på millennieskiftet.
